Now, normally this wouldn't worry me, but the block after that I'm on peramenent days for about a month. And becuase the days are on a different rotation to the one I'm one, my roster will be (starting from the six off beforehand..) 6 off, 4 nights, 4 off, 4 nights, 2 off, 2 days, 4 off, 4 days, 4 off, 4 days, 4 off, 4 days, 2 off, 2 nights, 4 off. Or something like that.
It's the 2 off then 2 days I'm really worried about. I am a crap getting-to-sleeper. Once I'm asleep you can retile the roof and I won't wake up (and that is not a descriptive way to say I sleep deep. That actually happened. I slept through a roof re-tiling), but it's the getting to sleep that shits me to tears. From when I hit the pillow and turn the lights off it takes me an hour to two hours before I finally nod off. I have never had that wonderful "asleep before the head hits the pillow" moment that so many people seem to have. In the last month on my days off I haven't gone to bed before 2 am. There's no point in trying to get a normal sleep pattern happening when you're stuck on nights. I may as well go to bed late/early and sleep in 'til noon. But I am so worried about those 2 days off (which really, only work out to be 1 and a bit days off when you take the morning nap into account) and then straight into days. If I'm not sleeping until 2 or even 3 am, how am I gonna handle waking up at 5???
Got a heap to write down this block off, so perpared to be bored by me over the coming days. Stuff about faith and religion, writing, and a cool deaf dog called Amos who I am taking care of for 10 days.
You have been warned. But before that...anyone wanna make me a hot chocolate to try to lull me to sleep??
