There's an awful lot of Bruce Willis and Tim Robbins in this list. Hmmm.

That blister on my left little finger is still huge. Forget about it taking over small countries - I'm scared that if it pops while I'm sleeping I'll drown. The blister on my right finger is really annoying me. It's on the same finger I broke a few years back, and I think the blister is big enough to tighten the skin on the finger. This has caused my finger to go that tingly numb feeling I only get in winter when it's below zero. It doesn't hurt, but it really stops me from doing things. For example - typing. I can touch type, but at the moment I'm down to the two finger dance. Bleh.

My parents aren't at their peak at the moment.
Dad broke out in shingles for the first time this week, and cannot find the medication the doctor recommends for it anywhere. I had a look on-line and everywhere is sold out. Poor Buggar.
Mum is in hospital. She had a case of endometritis (sp?), and it was decided it would be best for her to have a hysterectomy(sp?). Last time I talked to her she was feeling positive about it. Like I've mentioned before her menopause was causing her a lot of problems, and the doctors seem to think having the op will help her coeliac (I swear - I need to get a medical dictionary). She has to stay in hospital tonight and tomorrow and will be home Friday. I'm going to call her tomorrow and catch up with her.

It's weird in a way. This is probably the first time I haven't been sitting around wishing I was there to help them. I mean, I would love to be there to help, but realistically there's not that much I could do. Dad has a week off on carers leave to help Mum, and Mum is independent enough that if I was there she wouldn't want me to help her too much anyway. She'd like me to help, but believes that some things shouldn't be shared between family members. Which I agree with. Heck -she and I are a lot alike in a lot of our thinking. But anyway - like I said I'm not pining to be home. Which is good. It's like I have finally left home and am separate from my family. I am me.

And in the world of siblings, Scott came home last week. He sent me my pressies (he was away for my birthday, so he got me souvenirs). A couple of CD's from a band you can't get in Oz, a t-shirt, and my absolute fav - pieces of rock from Alcatraz. That last one rocked me. (No pun intended)He figured I would appreciate something like that, and I do very much. Ta bro, ta.

Ha! I once pocketed a couple pieces of Alcatraz, and then forgot to remove all of them to a safer place. Flash forward a few months and I'm having a quiet chat with my bestest friend Owen and my pack decides to take a header off the chair and the front pocket falls open.

"Oh no, it was your shit pocket", cries Owen, knowing all to well that I use the most accessible pocket on my pack for stuff not worth stealing like ancient minties, tissues, old bus tickets etc. So he's down there like a kid on a pinata, pawing through my stuff when he finds the piece of rock.

It's from Alcatraz, I explain.

"Okaaay," says Owen, putting the rock down slowly and backing away.

Some folks just don't understand. :p

Or, as my frind Kay snarked when I said I wanted to go there: "Why? It's a barren rock in the middle of nowhere that used to be filled with convicts. On second thoughts, you be right at home."

Hmph.

ps. loved the Erzra/Buck story I read yesterday.

Thanks! I wasn't sure many people would like it, since the ending is rather.... well, it's not un-happy, but it ain't "ever after" either.
