In fact, some of our answers are almost the same.

Which TV shows did you let go of in 2011?

Supernatural. I tried to hold on to it as long as I could, but when I found myself telling the tv to get over themselves I knew it was time to go before any more of Season 7 ruined the entire show for me. It’s a shame, because watching this show really cemented some “see them everyday” friendships and we spent many a weekend doing Supernatural fests at their house.

In my head, it will have finished at season 6. (even though I wasn’t a fan of season 6, I'll give them the benefit of the doubt that it will age better)

Stopped with Glee. When it’s good it’s awesome, but when it’s bad it's…..excruciating. I’ve never seen such an uneven show like that.

Australian television wise- I stopped watching “The 7pm project.” I enjoy clever news, which is what this is advertised as, and is not. (Also, one of their guests presenters is horrible. And I somehow managed to only watch it when he was on the panel.)

It’s been a weird year, as this is the first time I think that I consciously made the decision to stop watching a show. Normally what happens is I end up having something on the night a show is on, or the programmers change the night/time it’s on, and by the time I get to watch it, I’ve missed something important and can’t catch up.

Which TV shows did you mean to get into but didn't in 2011? Why?

I tried to get into Terra Nova, but I kept getting distracted by “Spot the Aussie”. And Ringers, I watched a couple of eps, but it just really annoyed me. For me it couldn’t decide what type of show it was. If you’re a drama, be a drama. If you’re a soap opera, be a soap opera.

Which TV shows do you intend on checking out in 2012?

Alphas, and the second season of Sherlock. Oh! And the Homeland one. That looks interesting.

Which TV show impressed you least in 2011?

Supernatural. And the last couple of episodes of the season for Castle. Talk about character assassination!

Which TV show do you think you might let go of in 2012 unless things significantly improve?

Hawaii 5-O. I thought I really enjoyed it, but when I bought the season on DVD I found myself not enjoying it as much. They really aren’t the best police people I’ve ever seen. (At the very least, don’t yell at suspects when they’re a mile down the road. It gives them a head start and wastes a lot of time with all the running. And can someone get Kono some proper clothes. She looks homeless half the time.)

Neighbours. Because it’s gotten to the stage where I’m almost old enough to be the mother of the kids on that show, and it makes me feel old.

Which TV show impressed you the most in 2011? Why?

Person of Interest. I was literally on the edge of my seat sometimes. And it made me talk in half sentences and gibberish from all the squee.

Which TV shows do you think you'll never let go of no matter how crappy they get? Why?

Midsomer Murders. Even though I miss John Nettle so veryverymuch (and I think the show is really missing him) I really enjoy the feel of the show. Any show that has little old ladies stabbing people in the ear with their knitting needles or Orlando Bloom being killed off with a pitch fork to the chest will always hold a special place in my heart.

Your main fandom of the year?

Sherlock.

Your favorite film you watched this year?

I loved Captain America. And War Horse.

Your favorite book read this year?

A most excellent non-fiction book called “The Killer Of Little Shepherds.” By Darren Starr. It’s about a serial killer in France in the 1890’s who was more viscous than Jack the Ripper. And it was during the birth of Forensics, so they caught him only because people where clever and inventing ways to use science to connect crimes instead of rumour and innuendo. It’s an amazing book, and it really makes you think about little things like mug shots, and rates of decomposition (but in a good way)

Your favorite tv show of the year?

Probably Person of Interest

Song of the year?

Probably Seeker Lover Keeper’s “Even Though I’m a Woman.” I adore that song.

Your biggest squee moment of the year?

When Wolverine showed up in X-Men: First Class. I was not expecting that. In fact, I clapped.

Your biggest fan anticipations for the coming year?

The Avengers movie. Oh lordy I cannot wait for this. I bloody sat through Thor just so I had all the characters sorted out and knew their backstories movie-wise for this.

And a small part of me is looking forward to the second Expendables movie. Because the first one was just so bad it bordered on being Most Awesome Movie Ever. I think having Chuck and Jean-Claude will make all the difference.

I watched Captain America on the plane over, on the plane back, and bought a copy on watched it over the weekend. I do remember us talking about the suckage of Thor. Maybe Thor sucked that much it took away all awesome-ness from the Captain.

And yes, I owe you big time for introducing me to Person of Interest. I haven't had such a good (and stressful) show on my regular viewing schedule for ages.
