I just got home from going to the movies to watch War Horse.

Oh.

My.

Without giving anything away, it was absolutely amazing. And I'm not going to be able to look at a horse for a very long time without getting a tear in my eye. (I may have cried a ridiculous amount. Like, "watching Lady Di's funeral on the television" amount.)

So I can recommend it. I just can never watch it again.

I'm glad I saw it on the big screen, because some of the camera shots on take your breath away. On the other hand, if I'd watched it at home, I could have taken a couple of breaks to calm down.

I am not exaggerating when I say I got through half a box of tissues. And when I got home after posting that I went to bed, as I was too emotionally drained and had a headache.

But sweet jeebus the movie is just amazing. And the time flies by - it's about 2.5 hours long, and you don't notice the time going.

There's enough funny moments to keep you going, but they just help make the sad moments sad.

I really want this movie to win heaps at the Oscars. Unfortunately, I don't think horses are eligible for Best Actor (and trust me, the horses and their acting are brilliant)
