And I saw the latest Star Trek movie. I feel I should preface this by saying that I am not a fan of Star Trek. It has been raining for a week (windrose - did you sneak into Australia and solve the drought with your crazy weather abilities??), and I figured it was the perfect day for sitting in a dark cinema munching on popcorn and malteasers. And if I was ever going to see the Star Trek movie, it had to be on the big screen otherwise I'd never watch it. So, a non-Star Trek fan thoughts on the movie....

That was freakin' awesome!! It was way more awesome than I could ever have imagined!! I cried! I laughed! I clapped! And cheered!

And may I say that Chris Hemsworth has improved greatly as an actor since his time on Home And Away.

Did I mention I thought it was awesome?? Anyway, I'm sure that there were things wrong with the plot and stuff, but as someone who is not a fan of the franchise, the movie has made me want to more. Which, can't be a bad thing I'm sure.

That was my spirit, urging you to go see Star Trek because I knew you'd love it. O-:-)

Seriously, was that not shiny, happy, full-of-squee FUN? Yes, there are plot-holes. Yes, the science is bouncy and made of rubber. But it's silly and funny and makes you leave the theatre with a big ol' grin on your face, and that's what counts. &hearts

OMG. I can't believe how much I enjoyed it! I want to see it again very very very soon. It's what a rainy day movie should be: full of fun and gleeful moments and yaying and squeeing and stuff. I hope they do another one with that cast. They rocked!!
