Yesterday I went down to the real estate office to make an appointment for next week to have a look at some houses.

For I am planning on buying a house.

Menatally, the idea of buying a house and having a bank loan to pay off for the next 30 years freaks me out somewhat. However, I am sick of living in rented places. For the last month or so I have had this urge to .... well, potter would be the best way to describe it. I want to plant a herb garden, and have pots in my garden. Heck, I want a garden that I'd care about watering. (Of course, I have issues with watering gardens when we're in the middle of a drought, and thus at the moment I bucket out the water in my bath for the garden, but that is beside the point.)

I'm ready. So, next week my parents are coing over and we're going to look at about 6 houses that I like the look of, and can afford. And whilst I've been having grown-up moments, I went to a bank to get a hypothetical I what I could borrow, and have set my spending limit 20 grand below that. I figure while it would be nice to have a house, it would also be nice to have a life at the same time.
